We highly recommend visiting between May and August. The weather is much cooler and drier then, making for a far more comfortable round compared to the scorching summer heat. You'll avoid the intense humidity and afternoon thunderstorms that can disrupt play during the wet season.

Don't let the resort setting fool you; Phakalane offers a genuine test, especially with its tree-lined fairways and strategically placed water hazards. The par-3 17th, with water guarding the green, is a real card-wrecker if you're not precise. You'll need to think your way around here, not just smash it.

Can I expect to see any wildlife on the course at Phakalane, or is it strictly manicured golf?

You're in Botswana, so yes, keep an eye out! While it's not a safari park, we've definitely spotted impala grazing peacefully on the fringes and a fantastic array of birdlife around the water features. It adds a unique, wild touch to your round that you won't find just anywhere.
