Courses

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the golf courses in Masvingo worth a dedicated trip, or are they more of a stopover?

While Masvingo only offers two courses, they provide a unique, authentic Zimbabwean golf experience. Don't expect championship-level manicured fairways, but you'll find friendly clubs and a relaxed pace that's perfect for a laid-back round. We recommend combining your golf with the incredible Great Zimbabwe Ruins for a truly memorable visit.

When is the best time of year to play golf in Masvingo?

We highly recommend visiting during the dry season, from May to October. The weather is cooler and less humid, making for much more comfortable rounds, and the course conditions are generally at their best. Avoid the peak rainy season (December-February) if you can, as conditions can get quite challenging.

Can I easily combine a golf trip to Masvingo with other cultural attractions?

Absolutely, and we strongly encourage it! Masvingo is home to the magnificent Great Zimbabwe Ruins, a UNESCO World Heritage site that is an absolute must-see. You can comfortably play a round in the morning and explore the ruins in the afternoon, making for a rich, fulfilling day.

What kind of golf experience should I expect from Masvingo's courses?

You'll find a more rustic, unpretentious golf experience here, which we genuinely appreciate. The courses offer a true taste of local golf, often with unique challenges like natural hazards and less-than-perfect greens, but always with a welcoming atmosphere. It's a refreshing change from highly polished resort courses.

How accessible are the courses, and what are the typical green fees in Masvingo?

Both courses are relatively easy to access within the Masvingo area, usually just a short drive from the town center. Green fees are incredibly affordable compared to international standards, offering fantastic value for money, often just a fraction of what you'd pay elsewhere. You'll find it's a very budget-friendly golf destination.
