Pitch and Putt
Frequently Asked Questions
When's the best time to play this Pitch and Putt, and what kind of experience should I expect?
We love visiting this coastal Pitch and Putt in late spring or early autumn; you'll dodge the peak summer crowds but still enjoy pleasant weather. Expect a surprisingly varied layout with some stunning sea views, especially from the elevated back nine holes.
Is this Pitch and Putt just for beginners, or does it offer a real challenge for more experienced golfers?
Don't let the 'pitch and putt' label fool you; the greens here are deceptively undulating, and that persistent sea breeze can turn a simple chip into a real test. We particularly enjoy the challenge of the 7th hole, which plays directly into the prevailing wind and demands a precise shot.
What's the typical cost to play, and do I need to bring my own clubs?
A round typically sets you back about £10-£12, which we think is excellent value for the views alone. While you can rent a basic set of clubs and balls for a few quid, we recommend bringing your own trusty wedge and putter if you have them, as the rental options are pretty standard.
We're planning a day trip; what else is worth doing around the Pitch and Putt?
Absolutely, make a day of it! After your round, we always head down to the charming fishing village just a five-minute walk away for some fresh fish and chips by the harbour. The coastal path also offers some fantastic, easy walks with incredible views back towards the course.
Is this a good spot for absolute beginners or families with kids?
This course is fantastic for beginners and families; the holes are short enough to keep everyone engaged, and the atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed. We've seen plenty of first-timers have a blast here, and the friendly staff are always welcoming and helpful with tips.
