Golf Club Madesimo
Frequently Asked Questions
When is the best time of year to experience Golf Club Madesimo?
We always recommend late June through early September for Madesimo. The mountain air is crisp, the fairways are lush, and you'll avoid the unpredictable weather that can hit outside of peak summer. If you don't mind cooler temperatures and want to see some incredible autumn foliage, late September offers a truly spectacular backdrop for your round.
What makes the Madesimo course layout unique, and what should I expect?
Madesimo isn't just a golf course-it's an alpine adventure. Expect significant elevation changes on nearly every hole, demanding precise club selection and a good fitness level if you're walking. The views of the surrounding peaks are genuinely distracting, so try to keep your eye on the ball, especially on the dramatic downhill par-3s.
How challenging is it to get to Golf Club Madesimo, and what's the journey like?
Getting to Madesimo is part of the experience, but be prepared for a winding mountain drive, especially the final ascent. We suggest renting a car with a bit of power and allowing extra time to enjoy the stunning scenery on the way up from Lake Como or Milan. The roads are well-maintained, but they are definitely alpine.
Is playing Golf Club Madesimo an expensive experience, and what's included in the green fee?
While not a budget course, we find Madesimo offers excellent value for a high-altitude Italian gem. Expect green fees to be in line with other quality mountain courses in Italy, typically ranging from €70-€100 depending on the season. Your green fee covers your round, but buggies are usually an extra cost-and often a good idea here due to the terrain.
What essential gear or tips do you have for playing Madesimo's mountain course?
Layers are your best friend at Madesimo; mountain weather can change quickly, even in summer. We also strongly advise comfortable, sturdy golf shoes with good grip, as you'll be navigating some serious slopes. Don't forget a few extra balls-the views are beautiful, but they can also hide a wayward shot in the rough.
