Frequently Asked Questions
What's the real difference between the CopperHead and Sidewinder courses at Rattle Snake Point?
We've played both extensively, and CopperHead is definitely the championship test, demanding precision and strategic thinking, especially on its challenging back nine. Sidewinder, while still a fantastic round, offers a more forgiving layout that's perfect for a relaxed afternoon or if you're looking to score well.
Can non-members play at Rattle Snake Point, and what's the best way to get on the course?
While primarily a private club, you can absolutely get on the greens here. Your best bet is to secure an invitation from a member or look for charity tournaments and corporate events hosted at the club; we've found this is often the most straightforward path to experiencing these fantastic tracks.
When is the ideal time to visit Rattle Snake Point for the best golf conditions in Canada?
We always recommend late spring, typically May to early June, or early fall, from September to early October. During these windows, you'll find the courses in pristine condition, the weather is usually perfect for golf, and you avoid the peak summer heat and crowds.
Beyond the golf, what else should we experience at Rattle Snake Point Golf & County Club?
Don't just come for the golf-stay for the full experience. The dining options are excellent, especially the patio overlooking the 18th green, which is perfect for a post-round drink and meal. We also found the practice facilities top-notch, ideal for honing your short game before hitting the first tee.
What's the signature hole or a must-know challenge at Rattle Snake Point that we should prepare for?
Keep an eye out for the par-3 17th on the CopperHead course-it's a real beauty and a beast. With water guarding the front and right, and a tricky green, it demands a precise shot to avoid a big number, but the views are absolutely stunning.
