Richmond Golf Club
Frequently Asked Questions
When is the absolute best time to play Richmond Golf Club for ideal conditions?
You'll want to aim for late spring, specifically May or early June, or early fall in September. The course is in prime condition then, with lush fairways and greens, and you'll avoid the peak summer heat and crowds. We found the crisp autumn air in September makes for incredibly enjoyable rounds.
What's the biggest challenge or unique feature I should prepare for at Richmond Golf Club?
Richmond really tests your short game, especially around the greens. Many of them have subtle undulations and false fronts that can send a slightly misjudged chip rolling back at you. Pay close attention to the pin positions on holes 7 and 14- they're trickier than they look.
Is Richmond Golf Club a good value compared to other courses in the region?
Absolutely, we think it offers excellent value. While it's not the cheapest round, the course conditioning and the thoughtful layout justify the price, especially if you can snag a twilight rate. You're getting a well-maintained, engaging round without the premium price tag of some of the flashier resort courses nearby.
Which hole at Richmond Golf Club should I really look forward to playing?
You absolutely have to experience the par-3 17th. It's a beautiful downhill shot over water to a well-guarded green, often with a tricky crosswind. It's a fantastic risk-reward hole that can make or break your scorecard, and the views from the tee box are stunning.
What's the clubhouse vibe like at Richmond Golf Club, and is there anything special for after the round?
The clubhouse at Richmond has a classic, welcoming feel- it's not overly modern but very comfortable. We always grab a drink on the patio overlooking the 18th green; it's the perfect spot to recap your round and watch others finish up. Their clubhouse restaurant serves up a surprisingly good burger, too.
