YXE

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the absolute best time to play YXE for ideal conditions?

You'll find YXE at its peak from late spring through early fall. While July and August offer the warmest weather, we actually prefer late June or early September for slightly cooler temperatures and fewer crowds, making for a more relaxed round. The course is typically in pristine condition during these shoulder seasons.

What kind of challenge can I expect at YXE, and is it walkable?

YXE offers a fair but engaging challenge, especially with its prairie winds that can turn a good shot into a struggle if you're not careful. While it's relatively flat and walkable for most, we recommend a cart if you're playing 36 holes or want to conserve energy for the back nine's subtle elevation changes. The wide fairways are forgiving, but the bunkering around the greens demands precision.

Is YXE an expensive round, and what's the overall value like?

Compared to some of Canada's resort courses, YXE offers excellent value without sacrificing quality. Expect green fees to be mid-range, typically around $80-120 CAD for 18 holes, depending on the season and time of day. We think it's a solid investment for a well-maintained course with a friendly atmosphere and genuinely good pace of play.

What makes playing YXE a unique experience compared to other Canadian courses?

What truly sets YXE apart is its blend of prairie serenity and strategic design, often featuring glimpses of the South Saskatchewan River valley. You'll encounter some truly memorable holes where the wind becomes your biggest opponent, and the vast, open skies create an incredible backdrop. Keep an eye out for local wildlife-we've seen deer and various birds during our rounds.

What's the vibe like at the clubhouse, and are there good options for food and drink after a round at YXE?

The clubhouse at YXE has a welcoming, unpretentious vibe-it's exactly what you want after a good walk. Their patio is fantastic for a post-round beer and a casual meal, offering great views of the 18th green. We always grab a burger and reflect on our shots; it's a perfect way to cap off the day.
