Summit Golf Course

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the absolute best time to play Summit Golf Course to experience its famous views?

We always recommend late spring or early fall for Summit. You'll get those crisp, clear days perfect for soaking in the panoramic mountain vistas without the intense summer heat or the risk of early snow. The course conditions are typically prime then, too.

What's the most challenging or memorable hole at Summit, and what should I watch out for?

Without a doubt, the par-3 14th, affectionately known as "Eagle's Perch," is Summit's signature. It plays significantly downhill to a green guarded by a deep bunker, and the wind can really swirl up there, so club selection is crucial. Don't forget to pause and take in the incredible valley view from the tee box.

Is Summit Golf Course worth the green fee, and what's included?

We think Summit offers excellent value, especially for the unique mountain golf experience. While green fees are on the higher side, they typically include a GPS-equipped cart and range balls, and the course maintenance is always top-notch. Consider an afternoon tee time for slightly lower rates and stunning sunset views.

What kind of terrain and elevation changes should I expect at Summit, and do I need a cart?

Summit is definitely a mountain course, so expect significant elevation changes throughout your round. While it's walkable for the very fit, we strongly recommend taking a cart to conserve energy and fully enjoy the dramatic ups and downs. Be prepared for some uneven lies and bring extra balls for those downhill shots.

What's the clubhouse experience like at Summit, and do you have any post-round recommendations?

The Summit clubhouse is cozy and welcoming, not overly grand, but the patio offers fantastic views overlooking the 18th green and the valley beyond. We always grab a local craft beer and their famous elk burger there after a round - it's the perfect way to cap off your day.
