Belfair
Frequently Asked Questions
When is the best time of year to experience Belfair's courses?
We highly recommend visiting Belfair in the spring or fall for truly ideal playing conditions. Summers can be incredibly hot and humid, making a full round less enjoyable, while winter mornings can be quite chilly. Aim for late March through May or late September through November to enjoy comfortable temperatures and the Lowcountry's stunning natural beauty at its peak.
If I only have time for one round, should I play Belfair's East or West Course?
This is a tough choice, as both are exceptional, but we lean towards the West Course for its dramatic marsh views and more varied shot-making demands. The East is fantastic too, offering a classic parkland feel, but the West truly captures the Lowcountry essence. You'll find yourself reaching for your camera more often on the West.
How can a non-member play Belfair, and what's the typical cost?
As a private club, playing Belfair usually requires an invitation from a member or staying at a partner resort that offers access, which is your best bet for a guaranteed tee time. Expect green fees to be on the higher end, typically in the $250-400 range, reflecting the pristine conditions and exclusive experience. It's an investment, but one we believe is absolutely worth it for the quality.
What's the most unique challenge or signature feature I should prepare for at Belfair?
Be ready for the wind, especially on the West Course's exposed marsh holes-it can turn a simple shot into a strategic puzzle. Also, pay close attention to the subtle undulations on the greens; they look innocent but can be incredibly tricky and demand precise putting. Don't just aim for the flag, consider the breaks from every angle.
What's the overall atmosphere and off-course experience like at Belfair?
Belfair offers a refined yet relaxed Lowcountry charm; it's not stuffy, but definitely upscale. You'll find excellent practice facilities, a welcoming clubhouse with great dining options, and a pro shop stocked with quality gear. We always enjoy a post-round drink on the veranda, soaking in the views and reflecting on the round.
