Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of challenge can I expect on Suntree's courses?
Suntree actually offers two distinct 18-hole courses, The Classic and The Masters, each with its own personality. The Classic is your more traditional, tree-lined Florida track demanding precision, while The Masters opens up a bit more, but brings water into play on nearly every hole. You'll need to think your way around both, but neither will beat you up unfairly.
When is the best time of year to play at Suntree Country Club?
We always recommend visiting Suntree between late fall and early spring, roughly November through April. The Florida weather is absolutely perfect then-warm, sunny, and much less humid-making for incredibly comfortable rounds. You'll avoid the summer heat and afternoon thunderstorms, which can really slow things down.
Can non-members play a round at Suntree, or is it strictly private?
Suntree operates primarily as a member-owned club, so direct public tee times aren't typically available. However, you can often play as a guest of a member, or sometimes through reciprocal agreements if your home club has one. It's worth calling ahead to inquire about any special public play opportunities they might occasionally offer.
What's a standout hole or unique feature at Suntree that I should look forward to?
On The Masters course, definitely keep an eye out for the par-3 17th-it's a real beauty and a true test. You'll hit over water to a well-guarded green, often with a tricky crosswind, making club selection crucial. It's a fantastic risk-reward hole that can make or break your scorecard at the end of your round.
Beyond the golf courses, what other amenities does Suntree Country Club offer?
Suntree isn't just about the 36 holes; they've got excellent practice facilities, including a spacious driving range and dedicated short game areas to sharpen your skills. You'll also find tennis courts, a fitness center, and a lovely clubhouse with dining options perfect for unwinding after your round. It's a full-service club experience.
