Rock Barn

Frequently Asked Questions

I see Rock Barn has two courses - which one should I play?

You absolutely need to experience the Robert Trent Jones, Sr. Course; it's the championship layout with those classic Jones, Sr. elevated greens and strategic bunkering that really test your shot-making. The Tom Jackson Course is a solid, more forgiving option if you're looking for a quicker, more relaxed round, but the Jones course is the star here.

When's the ideal time of year to plan a golf trip to Rock Barn?

We always recommend visiting Rock Barn in the spring (April-May) or fall (September-October). The weather is perfect for golf - mild temperatures and lower humidity - and the course conditions are usually at their absolute peak, especially the Bentgrass greens on the Jones course. You'll avoid the summer heat and humidity, which can be pretty intense.

What's the one hole or feature at Rock Barn that I absolutely can't miss?

On the Robert Trent Jones, Sr. Course, you absolutely have to pay attention to the par-3 17th. It's a stunning downhill shot over water to a well-guarded green, and it's where many a good round has gone sideways - a true risk-reward beauty. The entire back nine on that course, with its elevation changes and scenic views, is a highlight.

Beyond golf, what does Rock Barn offer for non-golfers or families?

Rock Barn is surprisingly well-rounded for a golf destination, making it great for mixed groups. The spa is fantastic, offering a full range of treatments, and there's a lovely outdoor pool area perfect for relaxing. You'll find tennis courts and dining options that cater to everyone, so your non-golfing companions will have plenty to do.

What should I expect to pay for a round at Rock Barn, and is it good value?

Green fees at Rock Barn, particularly for the Jones course, are generally in the mid-range for a championship-caliber resort course, often around $75-$120 depending on the season and day. We think it offers excellent value for the quality of the course and the overall experience; you're getting a top-tier design without the exorbitant price tag of some other resort courses.
