Radnor Valley Country Club
Frequently Asked Questions
When is the best time of year to experience Radnor Valley's course at its peak?
We've found late spring, specifically May and early June, offers Radnor Valley at its absolute best. The fairways are lush, the greens are fast, and the mature trees are in full bloom, making for truly picturesque rounds. Fall, from mid-September through October, is also fantastic with crisp air and vibrant foliage, though the pace can pick up a bit more then.
What are the must-play holes or unique challenges at Radnor Valley?
You absolutely need to pay attention on the par-3 8th hole; it's a beauty but deceptively tricky with its elevated green and surrounding bunkers. The par-5 15th is another standout, demanding a strategic tee shot to set up a chance at reaching in two, or a smart lay-up to avoid the creek. These holes really showcase the course's classic design and require thoughtful play.
Can non-members play at Radnor Valley, and what should I expect regarding guest fees?
Radnor Valley is a private club, so you'll need to be invited by a member to play a round here. When you do get that invitation, expect guest fees to be in the range of $125-$175, depending on the day and time. It's a fair price for the quality of the course and the overall club experience you'll receive.
How is the pace of play typically at Radnor Valley, especially on weekends?
The club does a great job managing the pace, and we've generally found it to be very reasonable, even on busier weekend mornings. You can usually expect to finish your round in about four hours, which is fantastic for a course of this caliber. If you prefer a quicker round, try to snag an early morning tee time or play on a weekday afternoon.
What are the practice facilities like at Radnor Valley, and should I plan extra time to warm up?
Radnor Valley boasts excellent practice facilities, so yes, definitely plan to arrive early and take advantage. They have a full-length driving range with quality balls, a dedicated short game area with bunkers, and a large, undulating putting green that accurately reflects the course conditions. It's the perfect place to dial in your game before hitting the first tee.
