Selma Valley Golf Course

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time of year to play Selma Valley Golf Course, and what should I expect from the course conditions?

We always recommend late spring or early fall for Selma Valley. The bentgrass greens are usually at their absolute best then, rolling true and fast, and the fairways are lush. Summer can get a bit baked out, especially in August, so aim for those shoulder seasons for the prime experience.

What's the most challenging or memorable hole at Selma Valley, and how should I approach it?

The par-4 14th hole is definitely Selma Valley's signature challenge. It's a sharp dogleg left around a stand of mature oaks, with a creek guarding the front of the green. Your best bet is a controlled tee shot to the right side of the fairway, leaving a mid-iron approach over the water-don't try to cut too much off the dogleg.

Is Selma Valley a good value, and how hard is it to secure a tee time, especially on weekends?

Selma Valley offers excellent value for the quality of golf you get-it's definitely a local favorite without breaking the bank. Weekends fill up fast, so we strongly advise booking at least two weeks in advance online. If you're flexible, twilight rates after 3 PM often open up more options and are a steal.

What are the practice facilities like at Selma Valley, and should I plan extra time to warm up?

You'll find a solid, if not spectacular, set of practice facilities at Selma Valley. The driving range has decent mats and targets, and the putting green accurately reflects the course's speed. We recommend arriving 45 minutes early to hit a few balls and get a good feel for the greens before your round.

After a round at Selma Valley, what's the best spot for a drink or a bite to eat at the course?

Head straight to "The Valley Grill" in the clubhouse. Their patio overlooks the 18th green, making it perfect for watching groups finish up with a cold local brew. We always grab one of their surprisingly good chili dogs-it's the perfect post-round treat.
