Oakleaf Golf and Country Club
Frequently Asked Questions
When's the best time of year to play Oakleaf Golf and Country Club?
We always recommend visiting Oakleaf in the late fall through early spring. You'll find the Bermuda greens are at their absolute prime, rolling true and fast, and the humidity is much more forgiving than in the summer months. Avoid the peak summer if you can't handle the heat and afternoon showers.
How challenging is Oakleaf for an average golfer?
Oakleaf is a fair test, but don't underestimate its subtle challenges. The course really demands precision off the tee, especially on the back nine where water comes into play more often than you'd think. We found the greens, while not overly undulating, have some tricky breaks that will test your putting touch.
What's the standout hole or feature at Oakleaf that I shouldn't miss?
You absolutely have to experience the par-3 14th - it's a beauty. It plays over a marshy area to a well-bunkered green, often with a prevailing crosswind that makes club selection critical. It's a true risk-reward shot that defines the course's character.
What should I expect to pay for a round at Oakleaf, and is it worth it?
Expect to pay in the $80-$120 range for a prime time weekend round, which we think is excellent value for the experience. The course conditioning is consistently top-notch, and the pace of play is usually well-managed, making it a worthwhile investment for a quality day out.
Beyond the golf, what else does Oakleaf offer for a full day experience?
After your round, definitely grab a drink and a bite at The Acorn Grill - their patio overlooks the 18th green and is perfect for unwinding. They also have a fantastic practice facility with a large driving range and short game area, so arrive early to dial in your wedges.
