Frequently Asked Questions
Is Fiddler's Elbow Country Club open to the public, or is it members-only?
This is a private club, so you'll need to be a member or play as a guest of one. We've found that securing an invitation is well worth the effort, as the course experience is truly exceptional and exclusive.
What makes Fiddler's Elbow's course design stand out, and how challenging is it for different handicaps?
Fiddler's Elbow is known for its dramatic elevation changes and the strategic use of natural wetlands on several holes, particularly the back nine. You'll find it's a fair test for all handicaps from the appropriate tees, but the greens demand precision and local knowledge.
When is the best time of year to play Fiddler's Elbow for optimal conditions and fewer crowds?
We highly recommend visiting in late spring or early fall. The course conditions are typically pristine, and you'll avoid the peak summer heat and humidity, making for a much more enjoyable round.
What's the overall atmosphere like at Fiddler's Elbow, and what other amenities should we check out?
Fiddler's Elbow strikes a great balance-it's upscale without being overly stuffy. After your round, definitely grab a drink at the 19th Hole Bar; their patio offers fantastic views of the finishing holes. The practice facilities, especially the short game area, are also top-notch.
Should we plan on taking a cart, or is Fiddler's Elbow a walkable course, and what about caddies?
While the course is technically walkable, we strongly recommend a cart due to the significant elevation changes, especially if you're playing 36 holes. Caddies are available and we highly suggest one-their insights on the greens are invaluable here.
