Wailea Emerald Course
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the Wailea Emerald Course stand out from its sister courses, and is it good for couples?
The Emerald truly lives up to its name with incredibly lush, vibrant landscaping and wider fairways that make it a joy to play. We absolutely recommend it for couples or groups with varying skill levels; it's designed to be fun and forgiving without sacrificing those stunning ocean views. You'll find it a more relaxed round compared to the challenging Gold.
What are the must-see views or signature holes on the Wailea Emerald Course?
You'll be constantly distracted by the views, but holes 10 and 13 really stand out with their panoramic vistas of the Pacific, Molokini crater, and Kaho'olawe. The par-3 8th is also a beauty, playing downhill to a green framed by tropical flowers - it's a perfect photo op. We suggest taking a moment on the back nine to truly soak it all in.
When is the best time of day to play the Wailea Emerald Course, and what are the typical course conditions?
We always advise booking an early morning tee time, ideally before 8 AM, to beat the heat, avoid the trade winds that pick up later, and enjoy the calmest conditions. The course is consistently in fantastic shape, with perfectly manicured greens and fairways that feel like carpet - you'll appreciate the attention to detail.
Is the Wailea Emerald Course worth the green fee, and what should I expect regarding costs?
While Hawaiian golf is never cheap, we genuinely feel the Emerald offers excellent value for the experience, especially if you're looking for a beautiful, enjoyable round without extreme difficulty. Expect green fees to be in the $250-$350 range, but look for twilight rates or resort packages if you're staying nearby - they can offer a slight discount.
What are the facilities like at Wailea Emerald, and where should we grab a bite after our round?
The clubhouse facilities are top-notch and shared with the Gold Course, so you'll find a well-stocked pro shop and excellent locker rooms. For a post-round meal, we love Mulligan's on the Blue, just a short drive away, for its lively atmosphere and great food with ocean views - it's a perfect way to cap off your day.
