DeLaveaga Disc Golf
Frequently Asked Questions
How challenging is DeLaveaga Disc Golf, really?
Don't underestimate "DeLa" - it's a beast, but in the best way. You'll navigate serious elevation changes, tight wooded fairways, and some truly long holes that demand precision and power. It's a fantastic test for experienced players, and a humbling, yet rewarding, experience for those newer to the sport.
When's the best time to play DeLaveaga to avoid crowds?
We always recommend hitting DeLaveaga on a weekday morning, especially outside of summer. Weekends, particularly sunny ones, can get pretty packed, leading to slower rounds. The course plays beautifully year-round, but spring and fall offer ideal weather without the peak tourist rush.
What essential gear should I bring for a round at DeLaveaga?
Beyond your usual discs, sturdy hiking shoes with good grip are non-negotiable - the terrain is rugged and can be slippery. We also strongly advise bringing plenty of water, as there are no services on the course, and a spotter for some of those blind shots to save you time searching for errant throws.
What are the must-play holes or unique features at DeLaveaga?
You absolutely have to experience "The Top of the World" - Hole 27. It's an iconic, downhill bomb shot with incredible views that you'll remember long after your round. The entire back nine offers a fantastic mix of technical woods and open-air challenges that truly define the course's character.
Is there a fee to play DeLaveaga, and what's the parking situation like?
Good news - playing DeLaveaga is completely free, which is amazing for a course of this caliber. Parking can be a bit tricky, especially on busy days; you'll find a main lot near the first tee, but it fills up fast, so arrive early or be prepared to park a short walk away.
